He was born Carlos Sandoval, tenth generation Sandoval. His ancestors made their home in the oldest city in Colorado, San Luis, after migrating from the historic New Mexican Villages of Chimayo and Abiquiu. While the area is overflowing with the amazing accomplishments of the first artists that occupied this area, the Native Americans, it also gave birth to some of the world's greatest modern day artists.
